Our Story

The Shades of Pink Society was founded in Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates by Mrs Regina ‘Gie’ Baldeo Drew together with a strong group of Filipinos in 2018. It was under the umbrella of Bayanihan Council in Abu Dhabi. What began as a small community of individuals passionate about raising awareness has grown into a thriving network of advocates, medical professionals, and supporters, all united by the same goal: to offer hope, support, and empowerment to everyone touched by breast cancer.

Since 2018 we have worked tirelessly to assist breast cancer patients in every conceivable way that our limited funds can. We believe that every woman and man deserves not only the best possible treatment but also the emotional support so needed when a life is turned upside down.

Fuelled by the generosity of our supporters, we are now a registered foundation in the Philippines.

Dr. Arthur Jason Go, President of the Philippine Society of Medical Oncology, said most patients with breast cancer in the Philippines are fearful about undergoing check-ups and worry about expensive fees.

In 2022, there were 670,000 breast cancer deaths worldwide. In the Philippines, it is the highest diagnosed cancer with 27,000 new diagnoses a year and 9,500 reported deaths.
